Photoshop maybe the most well known and popular program on the market for making digital works of art but there are other programs out there too artists can make masterpieces with. This group is dedicated to showing the DeviantArt community what amazing works of art can be made by artists using photo editing programs not well known and sharing this information is encouraged.

I just shot a warning to the member that just gave the group a mini flood. Any more of these and I will impose a restriction on daily submissions.
__________________________ I just want to state to the whole group. I've just banned the artist that flooded the group with hundreds of deviants in the last few hours. (9-1-12) -------------------------
The next person to submit their whole gallery or close to that in one giant burst I will ban from this group. I'm ok with people submitting multiple entries at once but when it's a high number like 100+, that can not be forgiven. I'm not saying 99 deviants at once is acceptable. Cases of over flow are rare with this group so clearly most of you have common sense over this matter and know already what's acceptable.
I just deleted the folder for the Scatter Paint contest since no one entered and the deadline was yesterday.
Older contest folders have been locked, some thing I know I should have taken care of a long time ago. If any one would like to see a contest happen in the future, please speak up with your thoughts on it. Looking at the two remaining folders from past contests it's clear subject matter wasn't too inspiring for lack of entries.
When working with the contest folders in the admin. area I discovered some how some folders had already been locked off to people. I don't know how this occurred since every time I add a folder I make sure every one can access them except non-members.
Every one enjoy the changes and inform me of any bugs I might have missed.

This is the time remaining for our current Super Group membership...
If you want it to be renewed, it please donate to
It's not too early to start donations! Because dA is now back to the previous 4,796 instead of the 9,600 which are "normally" needed. BUT Warning this is a time limited offer and dA doesn't tell when this offer ends. Perhaps tomorrow??? No info! But I need to check from time to time...
Additional Notations for Submission
I've stated this more than once but it seems to be going unnoticed. If your software of choice is not listed with the group folders you need simply ask, and I'll add the new folder. Also I have nothing against members submitting to the featured folder.
Further more, and I'd like this to stop. No more submissions that have had work done on them in Photoshop. The point of this group is to display what other software titles can do. I won't delete these Photoshop mutts but I won't allow further entries of them. Starting as of today. June 20th '11

I just wanted to say I LOVE this group! And I only use Photoshop to place backgrounds or photos as background on my drawings, because I am too lazy to draw them Honest, that program is so complicated, I can't make heads or tails of it!
The ones submitted to the mixed editors envelope have backgrounds I have placed using Photoshop Elements 9. The rest I always do in Corel Painter Esssentials 4 and Corel Painter 12. I also use an old Microsoft program for the letters but lately I am learning Corel Draw X5 that comes with Corel Photo Paint X5, and have done some things with those in those latest pieces.
But no, I really cannot make heads or tails of my PSE9. I tried to draw something with it and it was extremely frustrating and complicated. I'll stick with Corel.
So don't worry I only use PSE9 to put in the background, until I figure it out how to do with the others.
I hate to tell you this but you have to tell me which pieces are Photoshop mutts. I stated a long time ago, and this is stated at the top of the group page. Photoshop mutts aren't allowed here. I'm going to have to remove them from the group. Please feel free to submit art created by other programs though, even traditionally made pieces. I rarely touch PS2 and what I make involving that program, I don't submit here.
You can add backgrounds into Corel by three means. Two for you, truthfully because I don't know if you have the other program. Copy the image to the clipboard from MS Paint, or open Corel a second time and copy the image to your working window for the program.
Please don't take my note to you about removing those pieces the wrong way, but I want every one to stick to the rule.
